The attack was targeted at Sydney's Jewish population, confirms the state's Premier Chris Minns.
The Stockholm Police have for a long time worked with and had a strong security mindset around Jewish objects, with visible police officers, police officers who work undercover, and with camera surveillance.
"Of course, we are following the global situation and adapting our measures accordingly. We have strengthened surveillance at Jewish sites today after what happened in Australia," says Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson for the Stockholm Police, to SVT News Stockholm.
The Central Jewish Council announces that all planned events will take place as planned. "As always, we have a close dialogue with the Police Authority," it writes on its website.
"We are deeply appalled by the attack on the Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach. This is not only an attack on individuals but also on the Jewish presence in the public sphere," said Noa Shaar, spokesperson for the Central Jewish Council.
