The Japanese Nippon Steel and US Steel are suing the Biden administration for stopping the deal.
The lawsuit was filed with an American court on Monday.
The deal, in which Nippon Steel wanted to buy US Steel, is worth 15 billion dollars, equivalent to 165 billion kronor.
