The resignation follows the Liberals' decision to remove the red lines against allowing the Sweden Democrats into the government.
The announcement was made in an email to members of the Liberals' women's wing, which Ekot has received.
"The decision is heavy, but my conviction weighs more. Liberal feminism never backs down when it comes to freedom, and I cannot compromise on that principle," she writes.
