On Thursday, it was announced that Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund (PIF) would stop funding the LIV Golf tour after this year. On the same day, PIF met with Newcastle, of which the fund has been a majority owner since 2021.
"The long-term planning that is clearly underway, at several different levels, means that exciting times lie ahead for the club," says Howe, who was at the meeting.
Newcastle's only title since PIF took over as owner came in 2025 when the team won the League Cup. Newcastle are currently in 14th place in the Premier League with four games left to play.
