Based on the level he has maintained all year, how well he played towards the end of the season, and the fact that there is no practice time this year, I'll throw him into the deep end immediately, says Chicago coach Jeff Blashill about the Swedish giant talent.
Frondell was selected third overall by Chicago in the NHL draft last summer. Since then, the 18-year-old has been on loan to Djurgården in the SHL.
The Stockholm team's season ended on Saturday with a loss in the SHL round of 16 to Malmö. Now, the promising forward will instead be playing in North America.
"We're still working on some flight details. We want him here," Blashill says.
