The 26-year-old golfer stepped out for the final round of The Annika in the lead. Linn Grant was one stroke ahead of American Jennifer Kupcho and the finish looked to be dramatic.
But the Swede wanted something different.
She continued her great play at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, and was noted for her first birdie of the round on the second hole.
Then came three more birdies over the first nine holes, while Kupcho was noted for two bogeys. With three holes remaining, Grant led by three strokes – a margin that laid the foundation for victory in the competition for Swedish legend Annika Sörenstam. In the end, she was 19 strokes under par, three ahead of Jennifer Kupcho.
"Very satisfying. We talked yesterday about how it's like the circle has closed. It's fun to win anything, but especially to stand here (with the victory) in her competition," Grant, who was awarded 4.6 million kronor, told Aftonbladet .
The win is Linn Grant's second in her LPGA career. The first victory came at the Dana Open in 2023. This season has been frustrating for the Skåne native, who has fallen to 53rd place in the world rankings.
