Toronto missed the NHL playoffs for the first time in a decade and fired two coaches last season. Now a replacement has been found, the club announced on its website.
“I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to return to Toronto and lead the Maple Leafs,” said Hiller, who takes over from Craig Berube.
The Swedes William Nylander, Calle Järnkrok, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Samuel Ersson and Emil Andrae play for Toronto. Toronto legend Mats Sundin is the club's new senior advisor.
