The announcement comes after the revelations of repeated sexual assaults between inmates by Arbetet and Sekotidningen.
It is important that the Prison and Probation Service takes this very seriously, as the assignment directive shows, says Christer Hallqvist, chairman of the Seko union within the Prison and Probation Service, to the newspapers.
Kenneth Holm, Director of Security at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, says that an analysis from 2024 showed an increase in reported incidents - but it did not lead to changed working methods or new routines.
"The purpose (of the new analysis) is to get an updated picture of how serious the situation is and what the authority can do to reduce the risks," he says in a press release.
