Polish President Karol Nawrocki was scheduled to meet with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Wednesday. However, following Orbán's meeting with Vladimir Putin on Friday, the meeting has been canceled.

"The president has decided to limit his program," writes State Secretary Marcin Przydacz on X ahead of the Polish visit to Budapest - where the meeting with the prime minister has been removed from the calendar.

The national conservative Nawrocki and the right-wing Law and Justice party (PIS) have received domestic criticism for standing too close to the pro-Russian Orbán at the same time as Poland clearly stands behind Ukraine in the war against Russia.

Ukraine gives the thumbs up for Sunday's decision and Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha writes on X that "it shows Poland's fundamental stance and its strong sense of solidarity."
