The club has accepted Trump's invitation, Knicks owner James Dolan confirms, The New York Post reports.
He is a friend and I have known him for 30 years. I am very proud to bring the team to the White House, he says.
It has previously been rumored that the Knicks would do as every other NBA club has done so far during Trump's two presidential terms, that is, forgo the traditional invitation. Last season's winners, the Oklahoma City Thunder, for example, said no based on the "timetable".
The most recent winners to make a visit were the Boston Celtics, when Joe Biden was president.
