The ship and its crew, which have been in the Middle East since January to support the US war against Iran, have received a lot of attention, including after several people tried to jump overboard.
The thousands of sailors and marines began their service aboard the huge ship in November and, before reaching Thailand early Wednesday, had not docked at any port in over six months.
The record-long deployment - combined with reports of food shortages, broken toilets and contaminated water - has caused relatives to raise the alarm about mental illness among the crew.
