The ship and its crew, which have been in the Middle East since January to support the US war against Iran, have attracted a lot of attention, including after several people tried to jump overboard.
The thousands of military personnel began their service aboard the huge ship in November and, before reaching Thailand early Wednesday, had not docked at any port for more than six months.
The record-long operation without a port call has - combined with reports of a lack of food, broken toilets and contaminated water - caused relatives to raise the alarm about mental illness among the crew.
