Last autumn, Moderna Museet's chief curator Gitte Ørskou was invited on a trip to Qatar by the emir's sister, Princess Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, which Dagens ETC first reported. In Qatar, Ørskou visited museums.
"Our policy is that we accept trips where the organizer offers to cover the costs," she told ETC at the time.
Now Ørskou writes in Dagens Nyheter that the museum is reviewing its "routines for externally funded trips and other situations that may concern independence and integrity."
She thinks it would have been better if Moderna Museet had paid for the trip itself.
"In retrospect, we can conclude that it would have been more appropriate if the museum itself had covered the costs," Ørskou writes in Dagens Nyheter.
