By admitting the infidelity on live television, Lægreid hopes to get a second chance.
"It was a declaration of love to commit social suicide on TV. If it can give me another chance, I'll take it," Lægreid told Norwegian and Swedish media.
"I hope it doesn't overshadow Johan's day (Olav Botn, who took gold). It was a bit spontaneous and not very well thought out."
