Two people are in custody after the sword attack at Brinell School in Fagersta last Friday.
In addition to the suspected 18-year-old perpetrator, who is suspected of murder and attempted murder, a 16-year-old boy is suspected of being an accessory to the crimes.
According to police, the boy has no connection to the school and was not there during the crime. Instead, according to media reports, the two suspects have been in contact with each other via online forums.
However, investigators remain tight-lipped about the details.
The reason we cannot say much about the investigation is that we do not want to influence witnesses and other people who will be heard in the investigation, says prosecutor Ann-Sofie Trossing at a press conference.
Comprehensive investigation
According to the prosecutor, the 18-year-old suspect was arrested ten minutes after police were alerted to the school attack. The suspected accomplice was arrested as a result of the investigation.
The investigation is expected to last for a long time, given that it is a comprehensive incident and a large investigation is ongoing and will continue, says Ann-Sofie Trossing.
Among other things, the crime scene investigation - with accompanying roadblocks - is still ongoing.

The police do not want to go into what any online contacts the two suspects may have had. However, parents are urged to keep an eye on their children's social media feeds.
Parents have a responsibility to keep track of what their children are doing on social media and digital platforms, says Patric Malmberg, who is operational coordinator at the police.
