Afraid of Heights – But Sings in the Air on Saturday

Albin Johnsén and Pa Modou Badjie are opening this year's Melodifestival. They are betting on getting the audience to dance – with a number that requires some balance. It's a little dramatic, actually, says Pa Modou Badjie.

In the song "Upp i luften", Albin Johnsén and Pa Modou Badjie are really lifted up in the air, on a seesaw that they first balance on down on the stage floor.

We're going to move, we're going to parry and balance on it before we go up in the air. I'm afraid of heights, so it felt in my stomach, I can say, says Pa Modou Badjie.

I think it's gone super well, but I'm not afraid of heights either … says Albin Johnsén.

The new duo had never worked together before they decided to go for a participation in Melodifestivalen. Now they're aiming to reach the final.

Our song raises the whole atmosphere, I think we're going to bring something to the competition, even though I haven't seen all the other entries. Above all with the message in the song, says Pa Modou Badjie.

What's the message, would you say?

It's the first time, at least for me, that I've made a song that actually tells people to do something actively. It's about coming from the bottom and taking yourself up, from darkness to light. And not letting negative energy bring you down, says Pa Modou Badjie.
