Among the victims are several children, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on X.
"We strongly condemn this cowardly attack, which we consider a crime and a brutal act," he writes.
Pakistan, through Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, said on Sunday that security forces had carried out attacks along the border with Afghanistan. According to the country, around 20 militants were killed in the attacks targeting hideouts of what it calls terrorists in the border area.
Pakistan has repeatedly targeted sites in Afghanistan as a result of the conflict that has flared up between the countries. The Pakistani government has accused the Afghan Taliban regime of supporting and harboring Pakistani resistance groups.
