A truck and a car have collided head-on on E4 between Gnarp and Jättendal in Hälsingland. Two people, including a child, were taken to hospital by ambulance.
It is a serious traffic accident, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson for the police in region Mitt.
The alarm about the accident came at 13.45 on Monday.
Later, the police announced that the driver of the car, a man in his 75s, died in the accident. A minor boy was slightly injured.
The truck will be seized for technical examination and the driver tested negative. A report on reckless driving has been filed, but no one is suspected in the case.
