Edmonton won the sixth meeting with 6–4 and thereby secured the victory in the match series with 4–2. The team has become a ghost for Los Angeles, which ultimately was helpless despite winning the first two meetings.
Los Angeles was down 2–5 at most, but got in touch when Anze Kopitar scored 4–5 with only 55 seconds remained. Edmonton could make it 6–4 through Connor Brown, in an empty net with two seconds left.
Adrian Kempe was not credited with any points after previously having a strong playoff and being credited with a total of ten points, which makes him share the scoring lead so far.
He may become available for play with Tre Kronor in the home World Championship that begins next week.
Edmonton will face Vegas in the next round, which decided its match series against Minnesota by winning the sixth meeting with 3–2.
