Adam Kadyrov is in intensive care after a serious car accident on Friday, sources told the US-funded Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL).
The car lost control and crashed into some kind of barrier," said a source in the Chechen capital Grozny.
According to the Ukrainian news agency RBC, the 18-year-old has now been flown to Moscow for treatment.
Adam Kadyrov has been identified as the likely successor to his father, Ramzan Kadyrov, long-time leader of the Russian republic of Chechnya and often called "Putin's attack dog" for his tyrannical leadership.
Already in 2023, Adam, then 15, was appointed head of his father's bodyguard force. Last year, he was appointed head of Chechnya's security council.
