Collins is best known for her starring role in the 1990 film "Shirley Valentine," for which she was nominated for an Oscar. She won the statuettes at the Bafta and Golden Globe Awards.
She also appeared in the 1970s series "Lords and Servants", in the role of the maid Sarah Moffat.
Collins, who had Parkinson's disease, passed away "peacefully" in London, according to a statement from the family.
