The actress Meta Velander has passed away, 100 years old
At 11:20 am today, she fell asleep in complete silence. She had been quite listless lately, no specific illness, but simply ran out of fuel, says her son to TT.
Meta Velander was one of Sweden's most merited and respected actresses, who for a large part of her career was engaged at the City Theatre.
She has, among other things, been awarded the Theatre Association's gold medal together with Yvonne Lombard for an "extraordinary artistic achievement".
Meta Velander was married to the actor Ingvar Kjellson from 1949, who passed away in 2014. She lived in a nursing home for some time and is mourned primarily by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
