Catherine O'Hara played mom in a number of classic comedies - "Home Alone," "Schitt's Creek," and "Beetlejuice," to name a few. She also had roles in several of Christopher Guest's mockumentaries, including "Best in Show."
O'Hara broke through on the sketch show "Second City Television" in her home country in the 1970s and has received many awards over the years, most notably for her portrayal of Moira Rose in the television series "Schitt's Creek".
O'Hara died at her home in Los Angeles after a short illness, Variety reports. She was 71 years old.
