Hans Wiktorsson suffered a severe brain injury in 1989 after an accident with a tram in Gothenburg and was living in a nursing home at the time of his death.
Hans Wiktorsson was born in Ludvika, but moved to Gothenburg at the age of 25 and became a member of the legendary prog band Nationalteatern in the 1970s. He was married to Med Reventberg, and they both got roles when his friend Lasse Brandeby made a TV series in the 1980s about Kurt Olsson, the strange figure who first appeared on Gothenburg's local radio a few years earlier.
The character Kurt Olsson was an eccentric man who liked to explain things on his flip chart, conducted strange interviews with deadpan seriousness and loved to sing 60s hits accompanied by his women's orchestra.
"Kurtan" appeared on TV in 1987 and became a phenomenon in several TV series and the film "Kurt Olsson - the film about my life as myself". It also became a stage show, and Kurt Olsson was turned into a Christmas calendar in 1990.
Hans Wiktorsson played Arne, "Kurtan's" co-worker who was severely ostracized. But after his accident, Hans Wiktorsson had to slow down his work rate and later became a disability pensioner.
Lasse Brandeby passed away in 2011. Reventberg died in 2021.
