Two years ago, climate activists carried out an action at Bromma Airport. Now 17 people are being charged with vandalism, reports Expressen.

It was in September 2023 that 17 people were arrested at Bromma Airport, then suspected of airport sabotage, after an action in which red paint was thrown at a building, an airplane and several cars.

Now that the prosecutor has filed charges, the criminal suspicion is instead of vandalism and aiding and abetting vandalism. According to the prosecutor, the damage is worth 95,000 kronor.

The two accused of throwing the paint have denied the crime during the preliminary investigation, reports P4 Stockholm .

The campaign also received widespread international coverage due to an incorrect claim by the state-owned airport operator Swedavia, which stated that an ambulance flight had been diverted due to the campaign. However, this was not true, a later review by the newspaper Dagens ETC showed.
