Despite the police finding semen on the girl's clothes and at one of the crime scenes, the man was acquitted in the district court of charges of rape and assault on a close relative of the girl.
Now the Court of Appeal overturns the verdict - and sentences the man to eight years in prison, reports Södra Dalarnes Tidning.
The district court did not find the girl's story credible, but the Svea Court of Appeal has now changed the verdict and convicted the man of, among other things, several counts of aggravated rape of a child and aggravated sexual abuse of a child.
He is sentenced to eight years in prison and must pay 630,000 kronor in damages to the girl.
