Duane "Keffe D" Davis was arrested in September 2023 for the murder of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas in 1996. The basis for the charge includes, among other things, his autobiography and TV interviews where the former gang criminal Davis bragged about his involvement.
But it's all made up, claims Davis, who at the time saw it as a way to make money by confessing to the murder of Tupac Shakur.
I've never even read that book, says Davis, who claims that the autobiography was written by someone else without his approval of what was written.
The trial against Duane "Keffe D" Davis is scheduled to begin in June 2026. But Davis now wants to be released and claims to have an alibi for the night of the murder. At the time, he was in Los Angeles.
Duane "Keffe D" Davis was previously a member of the notorious criminal gang Crips, but is not suspected of being the murderer. Instead, he is charged with organizing the murder and recruiting the perpetrator, a person who is now deceased.
Tupac Shakur was shot when he was sitting in a car at a traffic light in Las Vegas. He died six days later. The prosecutor's office in Las Vegas has not wanted to comment on the new information, according to ABC News.
