Regions have, with many problems along the way, procured, implemented and even scrapped new billion-dollar systems that did not meet the standards.
- Healthcare professionals should be allowed to devote themselves to care instead of despairing over IT solutions that do not work, Minister of Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed said at a press conference.
He called the assignment to the authority an "accident investigation." The medical record systems must be better than just being easy to manage; they must improve healthcare, according to Forssmed.
"The way to get there is through better procurement than we have seen so far," he claims.
The assignment is due to be completed on November 9 this year.
