A woman in her 45s has been seriously injured since the car she was traveling in was driven into from behind by a truck on E6. The truck driver is suspected of a crime.

The accident occurred in connection with a larger traffic control at 5 pm on E6 near Hogstorp in Uddevalla municipality.

Due to the control, queues had formed.

According to the police, the man who drove the truck probably missed this and collided with the passenger car that the woman was traveling in. The woman's car then collided with the car in front, and it then collided with the next car – but no other person is believed to have been seriously injured.

He is suspected of negligence in traffic and causing bodily harm.

He is identified, heard on the spot and will probably be heard later as well. But no one is deprived of their freedom, says the police's press spokesperson Göran Carlbom.

According to P4 Väst, the traffic in the southerly direction was released at 8:30 pm, while the northerly direction was still partially closed.

The Swedish Transport Administration announced earlier in the evening that the road would be closed in both directions until 11 pm on Wednesday evening.
