Swedish golf star Ludvig Åberg kicked off the season premiere of the PGA tour on Hawaii with five birdies and one bogey.

The 25-year-old stands after the first round at 69 strokes, four under par, which places him in a shared 16th place and five strokes behind leader Tom Hoge from the USA.

Åberg's bogey came first on the 17th hole, when he scored five strokes on a par four-hole. He then finished the round with a birdie on the 18th hole.

Swedish Alexander Norén, 42, is not participating in the premiere, as he was forced to withdraw due to a neck injury. World number one Scottie Scheffler, 28, also withdrew after cutting his hand while preparing Christmas dinner.
