25-year-old Ludvig Åberg, who went through the first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational on par, was noted for two birdies in the first three holes of the second round. And after ten holes, he was three under par since he had responded with four birdies and just one bogey.

But after three straight par holes, Åberg lost his pace. It became three straight bogeys before he, with a birdie on the 18th hole, could at least sign the scorecard on one stroke under par.

Thus, Åberg, who won the major tournament Genesis Invitational just a few weeks ago, has climbed from a shared 15th place to a shared 12th place.

The Irishman Shane Lowry leads after the second round, when he went around on five strokes under par to a total of eight under. American Wyndham Clark lies in second place on a total of six under par.
