13 people have been found in a mine in after being abducted in the Pataz area a few days earlier, reports the mining company Poderosa.
"This morning, after intensive search efforts, the police rescue team was able to retrieve the bodies of the 13 workers who were abducted ... by illegal miners", the company stated.
The people worked for a company that worked for the gold mining company Poderosa.
Peru has declared a state of emergency in several parts of the country, including Pataz, due to, among other things, violence.
