The comedy series "Abbott Elementary" gets a fifth season on the American TV company ABC, reports the entertainment site The Wrap.
The series created by screenwriter Quinta Brunson returns with the new season during 2025-2026.
Quinta Brunson also plays a role herself in the series.
The news comes a few weeks after a "crossover episode" was made with the TV channel FX's comedy series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", which achieved a viewership of 8.05 million on multiple platforms.
"Abbott Elementary" has received 24 Emmy nominations during its four seasons and won four Emmy awards, including Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Sheryl Lee Ralph in 2022 and Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Brunson in 2023.
The series' first three seasons are available to watch in Sweden on Disney+.
