The video was uploaded on the website in 2009 and has been seen by viewers from all over the world.

"One billion times! One billion views on YouTube! We are overwhelmed by the fact that so many people want to watch and listen to 'Dancing queen', and also it is one of about 300 songs that have reached that number!", says Anni-Frid Lyngstad (also known as Frida) in a press release from Youtube.

The song was released in 1976 and was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Andersson, it was then a part of the album "Arrival". The song became number one on the Billboard list in the USA. In total, the band has sold over three hundred million records.

"My dearest memory of 'Dancing queen' is when Benny came home late in the evening after a hard day's work in Polar Studios, after recording the backing track that would be the basis for what Agnetha and I would later add our voices to. I cried when I listened to it, because I thought it was simply perfect already then! And we knew – this must become a hit, because we loved every part of it and still do", says Anni-Frid Lyngstad in the press release.

"Dancing queen" is the second oldest song to reach one billion views on Youtube, the oldest is Queen's "Bohemian rhapsody" from 1975.
