On October 11, the exhibition opens, telling the story of how the song came to be, from the work in the studio to the acclaimed performance Abba gave with the song at the televised gala evening for King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia before their wedding in 1976.
"Dancing Queen" was released in August 1976 and topped the charts in more than ten countries, including Sweden, Australia, West Germany and the UK. It also became Abba's only number one on the US singles chart.
"With the exhibition we want to both get close to the story behind the song and show why it still feels so alive 50 years later," says Hanna Kimblad Einarsson, museum director at Abba the Museum, in a press release.
