The Stockholm Stock Exchange rose on Thursday for the fourth day in a row, again with defense group Saab as the winner. The broad OMXS index rose 0.5 percent.

The large-cap OMXS30 list was topped by Saab and online casino company Evolution, up 2.5 and 1.6 percent respectively. The defense company noted a roughly similar rise the day before after the announcement that Poland wants to buy Swedish submarines for 26 billion kronor.

At the bottom of the OMXS30 were pharmaceutical giant Astra Zeneca, down 1.4 percent, and mining company Boliden, one of Wednesday's winners, which fell 0.9 percent.

Outside of OMXS30, wind power company Arise surged over 52 percent after Norwegian energy group Aneo made a bid for the company.

Asian stock markets rose broadly in the morning hours Swedish time. In the US, Thanksgiving was celebrated on Thursday and both the stock markets and the fixed income market were closed.

On the leading European stock exchanges, index movements were small. The London and Paris stock exchanges hovered around zero, while the Frankfurt stock exchange rose marginally.

With this week's gains, the Stockholm Stock Exchange has now risen 7.2 percent since the turn of the year.
