Two people fell through the ice. One man could not be saved. He was 85 and a resident of the county. Relatives have been notified.
"The second man, also in his 80s, was taken by ambulance to hospital with unclear injuries," the Bergslagen regional police write on their website.
The alarm came in to SOS Alarm after 3 pm on Thursday.
