80 Miners Trapped in Dominican Republic Mine Collapse

At least 80 workers have been trapped in a zinc and copper mine that collapsed in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday.

Rescue workers are on their way to the site. The miners are supposed to be in a safe area underground, according to the responsible authority. There are no reports of dead or injured at present.

The mine is located in the countryside northwest of the capital Santo Domingo.
