The demonstration is one of the largest campus protests against Israel's warfare since last year's large protest wave at several American universities, writes Israeli Haaretz.
At least 80 people have been arrested, according to the police, during Wednesday's protest, many of them since they refused to leave the university. According to the news agency AP, clashes occurred between the police and demonstrators.
The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio states that the visa status of the "intruders and vandals" who took over the library will be reviewed.
"Hamas-friendly gangsters are no longer welcome in our great nation", he writes on X.
