89 victims have been identified from material the man collected on a USB stick in which he describes encounters with children aged 13 to 17, writes Le Monde.
The Grenoble prosecutor's office is now appealing to witnesses to help identify more potential victims. The man is said to have been active between 1967 and 2022 and was reported in 2024 by a nephew who found the USB stick, reports BFMTV.
The suspected crimes are said to have been committed in Germany, Switzerland, Morocco, Niger, Algeria, the Philippines, India, Colombia and New Caledonia.
During the investigation, the man admitted that he had suffocated his terminally ill mother and a relative.
