The proportion of CSN borrowers who ended up with the Enforcement Authority was unchanged in 2024. At the turn of the year, 79,000 borrowers had a student debt with the Enforcement Authority, 4,200 more than the previous year.
The proportion of all borrowers was, however, unchanged at around 5 percent.
"It's an important signal that the proportion with the Enforcement Authority is not increasing, despite more people taking out student loans. Most borrowers pay back according to plan", says Maria Edström, head of the payment department at CSN in a press release.
In total, nearly 1.8 million Swedes had a student debt in 2024. The total student debt amounted to 291 billion kronor. The repayment rate for all borrowers was 92.3 percent, in line with the previous year.
