77 people have been rescued in a major operation in the Aegean Sea.
No one has been reported injured or missing after the rescue operation, which was carried out early on Monday morning between the islands of Amorgos and Astypalaia, according to the Greek coastguard.
Three coastguard vessels, four merchant ships, and two smaller private boats took part in the operation after passengers called for help.
The migrants have been taken to the island of Naxos, where they are receiving temporary protection.
The location where they were rescued is on a shipping lane commonly used by smugglers to transport migrants from Turkey to Italy.
