76 people have been confirmed dead in the floods and landslides that last week hit Mexico. 27 people are still missing.

Large parts of the country were affected by heavy rainfall. The situation is worst in the states of Veracruz, Hidalgo and Puebla, where the floods swept away entire villages.

Over 120 communities are still isolated as roads and highways are blocked or destroyed, according to a report presented by the country's president Claudia Sheinbaum.

Rescue efforts are not over yet, we are still working, says Sheinbaum and promises assistance of just over 10 billion pesos, equivalent to approximately 5 billion Swedish kronor, to the 100,000 families affected by the disaster.

12,700 soldiers are still engaged in the work of assisting the affected communities, according to the government.
