Under 2024 came 75 percent of all streams of Swedish music from abroad. It is an increase from almost 50 percent in ten years.

This is shown by a new report from Spotify, which has compiled how the Swedish music export via the streaming service has developed over the past decade.

Behind the increase lies a generational shift among Swedish music creators, increased genre breadth and a global music market where digital reach and data-driven discovery play an increasingly important role, according to Spotify.

Avicii, Abba, Zara Larsson, Alesso and Tove Lo are among the most streamed Swedish artists globally over the past decade, with up to 98 percent of the streams from abroad.
