Around 70 people have fallen ill in connection with a conference in Jönköping. The municipality has now initiated an investigation to map out the cause of the outbreak.

In total, around 200 people participated in the conference.

According to Monica Kollberg, unit manager at the environmental and health protection office, the participants have mainly been afflicted with stomach pain and diarrhea – and it is now being investigated whether there is a link with the food served during the conference.

"The municipality is awaiting test results and continues to track food", says Monica Kollberg in a comment.

People who participated in the conference are now being urged to get in touch via a form sent out by the region as part of the infection tracking.
