The man was found dead by members of the public in the Tärendö River in Pajala on Saturday, downstream from the location where his boat was found on Monday.
A large search operation involving rescue services, mountain rescue and police has been looking for the man since he was reported missing. They have used divers, dogs, drones and a helicopter to help.
On Friday, police said all possible search areas had been explored and therefore ended the active search.
