"It seems like there was more than just wood in the Pankow Forest," the police wrote on social media.
The grenades are 122 millimeters in caliber and weigh a total of 1.5 tons.
"One by one, the grenades are professionally secured, recovered and transported away - a quiet, highly focused operation deep in the forest," the police wrote.
Pankow is a district in northern Berlin. The area was cordoned off during police work, but there was no indication at any time that there was any danger to the public.
