At least 57 civilians have been killed in the city of al-Fashir in clashes between paramilitaries and the army, according to a healthcare source and a volunteer group.
According to the group, the civilians were killed on Wednesday in clashes and shelling from the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Two years into the war between the military and RSF, tens of thousands have been killed, widespread famine prevails, and tens of millions of people have been forced to flee.
