205 Russian soldiers have been released from "Ukrainian-controlled territory" in exchange for 205 Ukrainian prisoners, it said.
The department thanks the United Arab Emirates for brokering the exchange, which comes a week after US President Donald Trump announced an imminent prisoner swap.
