Five more people have been reported missing.
Heavy rains have been hitting the country's coastal provinces since last weekend, with a record amount of up to 1.7 meters in 24 hours between last Sunday and Monday. According to authorities, more than 16,500 homes are currently flooded.
Earlier this week, Vietnam's Ministry of Environment said a total of 100,000 homes had been affected by the floods and over 150 landslides had been reported. Homes, streets and farmland are also under water in the World Heritage cities of Hue and Hoi An.
