At least 66 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since midnight, reports the Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Saturday, citing medical sources in the Hamas-controlled area.

Of these, 36 were killed in Gaza City, where Israel has intensified its attacks in order to take control of the city.

In one of the bloodiest individual attacks, eleven people were killed, including several women and children, when a house in the Tufah neighborhood was destroyed in a series of airstrikes, according to staff at the al-Ahly hospital.

Mohammad Abu Salmiya, head of the Shifa hospital, tells the news agency AP that the staff is concerned about Israeli "tanks approaching the hospital area":

The bombings have continued uninterrupted.

On Friday, the organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) announced that it is leaving Gaza City due to Israel's expanded military offensive.

The terrorist-stamped Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, marked the starting shot of the war. Since then, over 65,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's constant bombardment of the strip, according to authorities in Gaza.
